Singh was born into a Punjabi Sikh family as the child of former Indian cricketers Yograj Singh and Shabnam Singh. Tennis and roller skating was Yuvraj’s favorite sports as a child, and he excelled at both. He also won the national under-14 skating championship. His father threw the prize away and told him to stop skiing and focus on cricket. He used to take Yuvraj to practice every day.

Yuvraj studied at DAV Public School in Chandigarh. He completed his education in commerce at DAV College, University of Punjab, Chandigarh. He also had two short roles as a child actor in Mehndi Sagna Di and Putt Sardara.

Yuvraj’s father is an actor, former cricketer, and coach Yograj Singh. His real mother’s name is Shabnam Singh. His stepmother is a Punjabi actress Neena Bundhel. Yuvraj has a brother named Zoravar Singh. His stepbrother is a Punjabi actor Victor Yograj Singh. Yuvraj’s stepsister is a tennis player Amarjeet Kaur as per Starsunfolded.

Yuvraj got engaged to Hazel Keech in 2015 and married her on November 30, 2016. He bought a beautiful house in Chattarpur, South Delhi in February 2021. The couple’s first child, a son, was born in January 2022.

Yuvraj started his career against Jammu and Kashmir at the age of 13 years and 11 months with Punjab Under 16 in November 1995-96. In 1996-97, Yuvraj was promoted to the Punjab Under-19 team because he wasn’t out after scoring 137 against the Himachal Pradesh Under-19 team.

Yuvraj made his debut in the 1997-98 Ranji Trophy against Odisha in late 1997 but was expelled at the opening. His first debut came in 1999 in the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy final against Bihar in Jamshedpur; All were out of the Bihar team with scored 357, and Yuvraj batted at three for Punjab and scored 358 runs. In February 1999, Yuvraj represented India in an under-19 match against Sri Lanka in India.

In the third ODI, Yuvraj scored 89 runs from 55 balls. In the 1999-2000 Ranji Trophy, he scored 149 runs against Haryana.

In India’s 2000 U-19 Cricket World Cup victory under Mohammad Kaif, Yuvraj’s versatile performance earned him the Cricket Player of the Year award and his call-up to the national team. Their performances in the Championship included 68 off 62 & 4/36 against New Zealand in the group stage and 58 off 25 balls against Australia in the semifinals. Yuvraj was selected as the first cricketer by the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore in 2000.

International Breakthrough

Yuvraj was named to the India team for the 2000 ICC Knockout Trophy for his impressive performance in the under-19 team, making his international debut against Kenya before the pre-quarterfinals. Kenya scored 16 runs on Yuvraj’s 4 over, but Yuvraj didn’t get to bat

In the quarter-finals against Australia, Yuvraj won man of the match with 84 out of 80 balls and helped India against a quick attack by Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, and Jason Gillespie’s Team by 20 runs. He scored 41 runs in the semi-final against South Africa and was 1/15.

He scored just 18 runs against New Zealand in the final, which India lost. The trio of India, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe followed the tournament. Yuvraj averaged only 55 runs in five innings, averaging 11 laps. Yuvraj averaged 15.50 runs in the ODI series against the Zimbabwe tour in December 2000, after which he was dropped from the team.
